In honour of Dr Roger Mettam's outstanding contribution to the study of early modern French history this one-day conference brings together fifteen leading experts, including William Beik, Sharon Kettering, Jim Collins and Jeroen Duindam, to reassess the nature and practice of power in France from the Renaissance through to the French Revolution.
