The Pipe Roll Society has recently published the White Book of Southwell, the first complete, scholarly edition of this hugely valuable collection of medieval documents.

The White Book records 620 individual documents from c1100 onwards, ranging from papal bulls to royal charters to the privileges granted by many archbishops of York to the Chapter at Southwell.

The lead editor, Professor Michael Jones, will be talking about the White Book and this new edition. Professor Jones is Professor Emeritus at the University of Nottingham. As well as his work on medieval Nottinghamshire, Professor Jones is a world expert on medieval Brittany.

This talk is free of charge and there is no need to register. Please just come along.
