Details

This one day conference hosted by Newman University, Birmingham, and supported by the Catholic Record Society and St Mary's College, Oscott will explore the experience of Catholic lay men and women of the working and middle classes. Despite considerable scholarship on Catholic communities in cities in England, there has been remarkably little written about the experience of provincial communities between 1778 and 1840.

This cofnerence presents a number of short communications on the subject from a range of speakers from across the country. The event is open to everyone with an interest in Catholic and urban history: local historians, postgeaduate researchers as well a smore estbalished researchers.

Non-speaking delegates can book their place on our e-store for £12.
