The Roosevelt Institute for American Studies (RIAS) is pleased to announce its 2017 International Ph.D. Seminar, a program for doctoral students in U.S. history, politics, and culture, and transatlantic relations in general. Transnational and global history perspectives are especially welcome.
Ph.D. candidates whose research covers U.S.-related (any aspect of culture, society, domestic policy, or foreign relations) and/or transatlantic-related subject areas in the 19th and 20th centuries are kindly invited to apply for this program. The workshop is a unique opportunity to present ongoing research projects, test preliminary findings, and discuss primary sources with a larger academic community made of peers and experienced professors.
Interested Ph.D. students should submit their proposals (a 300-word abstract and a CV) no later than April 7, 2017. Please send the applications to the RIAS Ph.D. seminar coordinator, Dario Fazzi, at email@example.com.

- Research question, main argument, and contribution to the field of study;
- Historiography and secondary sources;
- Primary sources, collections, and archives;
- Preliminary findings and conclusions.
Selected Ph.D. candidates should submit their full-length papers by April 30, 2017. Papers will be circulated in advance. Accommodation and meals in Middelburg will be covered by the RIAS. For any further information, please contact the RIAS Ph.D. seminar coordinator.
