Details

This one-day conference invites papers from postgraduates and early-career researchers whose work engages with lordship in its spatial setting. The period 800-1300 spanned profound changes both in ideas of lordship and in its physical realities. An array of disciplines – including history, archaeology, literature, landscape studies, and legal history – provide means of shedding light on these developments. This conference seeks to bring different subject areas into conversation, and share perspectives on one of the defining institutions of medieval society.
