Details

Political, social, economic and civil injustice have been of enduring concern within International Studies. Yet, as the discipline moves through the second decade of the Twenty-First Century, a renewed focus is necessary. Global events have combined to remind us that the contemporary world is beset by ‘unjust acts’ and the prevalence of inequalities. But, how should such issues to be addressed? Who is it that bears the responsibility to uphold ‘justice’ on a global scale? What are the most pressing concerns? And why have they occurred? We invite you to join us at the BISAPGN 4th Annual Conference to deliberate over such questions and address the broader concerns regarding ‘Global Injustice’.

Call for Papers
Join us in Wales for the 4th Annual BISA PGN Conference to be held on the 26th May, 2016. Hosted by the University of South Wales, this conference is an excellent opportunity for PhD students – at all stages – to gain experience of presenting in a supportive environment. The conference is also a great place to discuss ideas and projects with commissioning editors from some of the UK’s leading academic journals and presses. Whilst also offering a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow scholars from all levels of academia.

This year’s theme is ‘Global Injustice’ in all of its manifestations in international politics. The BISAPGN seeks paper and panel proposals which address this relevant and thought provoking topic. In addition to broader proposals reflecting the diversity of postgraduate work in international studies.

Keynote speaker: Caroline Kennedy-Pipe, Professor of War Studies, University of Hull.

Deadline for submission of abstracts:  26th February 2016

  • Individual paper proposals must be submitted through https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9J5LNPW by the deadline.
  • Panel proposals should be emailed, with abstracts, to bisapgnexec@gmail.com
  • In addition, a number of BISA Working Groups will be organising subject-specific panels related to their areas of research. If you are interested in submitting to one of these panels, please contact the working group directly.
